Queens Library Mail-A-Book Services
for Seniors, Adults, Young Adults, and Children

  • Mail-A-Book services are available to homebound residents of Queens with no access to the Library due to health reasons or disability
  • Items are sent through the mail to readers. Items are enclosed in reusable book bags; readers can return the items in the reusable book bags. Postage-paid return labels are included
  • Materials circulate for 45 days and are renewable
  • When materials are returned, other materials are sent out automatically 
  • Readers may request specific titles or indicate their subject or author preferences or request titles in languages other than English
  • Books are available in hardcover, paperback, and audio format (CD and mp3 format).
  • DVDs and music CDs are also available for loan 
  • Mail-A-Book applications and requests can be made by mail or by phone (phone/address above)
  • This service is free of charge to Queens residents

Many organizations use specialized equipment to produce their recorded books on 4-track cassettes. A special cassette player is needed to listen to these 4-track tapes. This equipment can be obtained on extended loan, and free of charge, from the Andrew Heiskell Library for the Blind and Physically Disabled.
